This is a delicious recipe on it's own, but it's also the base recipe that links into 4 other recipes. It's part of a range of recipes. "1 Dish 4 ways"

Ingredients
30g Olive Oil
75g Bacon, finely chopped
100g Leeks, finely chopped
50g Carrots, finely chopped
100g Celery, finely chopped
1tsp Oregano or Mixed herbs
3 Garlic cloves or 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp Ketoroma Curry Blend - not enough to taste it, but enough to give an edge :-)
500g Beef mince (I like 250g pork & 250g Beef)
400g Tinned tomatoes
200g Cold water, to rinse out the tinned tomatoes and add to the pan
1tsp Salt
Freshly ground pepper
15g 85% Dark Chocolate (this is included in the macros, but it is optional - it makes the meat sauce a lot richer)
15g Basil, to decorate
Directions
Add the olive oil to a large non-stick saucepan and gently heat.
Add the chopped bacon, leeks, carrots & celery and cook for about 5 minutes until softened.
Add the garlic, herbs, curry blend and meat to the saucepan. Carry on frying, until the meat has browned, for around 5 - 10 minutes.
Add the tinned tomatoes, water (I use the water to clean out the tomato tins), salt & pepper.
Now simmer for about 30 - 45 minutes, or until you're happy that the sauce has reduced to a beautiful, silky sauce
Stir in the dark chocolates chunks until melted.
And finally top with basil leaves, or sprinkle on when serving.
