Salcey Forest Park Run

On a damp and misty morning, four intrepid explorers set out in deepest Northamptonshire on a quest for glory. Or more accurately, four Keto Fitness Club-ers set out on the Salcey Forest Park Run volunteering as tail walkers.  You may have heard of the Park Run and decided you weren’t a runner so haven’t got involved, but did you know they let you walk too? From their inception back in 2004, the Park Runs have welcomed thousands of people up and down the country, and this Saturday the Salcey Forest Park Run welcomed some Keto Fitness Club-ers for the first time. Even if you can’t run, you can still get involved. The tail walker role means you get to walk along, at the back, picking up the signs, bunting and any stray runners who have got lost. It’s a super important role, because it is the way they ensure no one is left behind. It was fun to walk along and chat about Keto, and forests, and why we don’t want to run, as well as a great opportunity to meet local Keto Fitness Club-ers. After an hour walk through the lovely Salcey Forest we arrived back at the café for a well needed drink. Fortunately, by the time we got to the café, the sun had made an appearance and the rest of the morning was spent swapping keto recipes, and discussing the relative merits of lupin flour, arrowroot and tiffin. It’s amazing the things you find interesting once you start out on this journey, and at least we weren’t boring our friends with our stories of Ninja cooking classes.

Huge thanks to Alison Mead who arranged this little meet up and to all those who came along. I’m sure it won’t be the last time we meet up locally. If you are in the Northampton area and want to spend a couple of hours talking with other Keto Fitness Club-ers, or just need an excuse to get away from the muggles in your family, watch out for more events.
