Spiced Up Beef Burgers
20g Butter or Olive Oil
100g Shallots, finely chopped if not using a food processor
100g Red Pepper, finely chopped if not using a food processor
500g Aberdeen Angus Beef Mince (steak mince, 5-10% fat)
1 tsp Hot Chilli Powder
2 tsp Garam Masala
Salt & Pepper to taste
Heat the butter / oil in a medium pan and fry the shallots & pepper over a gentle heat for 6-8 minutes to slowly brown. Remove from the heat and allow to cool a little.
The burger mix can be made in a food processor or mixed by hand. Add all of the ingredients to a bowl / food processor and mix well.
Divide the mix into 4 or 8, depending on how thick you want each burger.
Use a burger press or mould the mix in your hands, pressing firmly.
Heat a skillet pan or good non-stick frying pan over a medium heat. Depending on the thickness of the burgers, fry for around 3-5 minutes on each side to ensure they are fully cooked.
