CookbooksSpiced Up Beef Burgers

Keep it simple and serve these in lettuce wraps or on a bed of salad, or make a 90 second bread / linseed roll. Cheesy wraps also work nicely with these!
Makes 4 portions - each portion contains:
262 Calories / 2.5g Carbs / 26g Protein / 16g Fat

Ingredients

20g Butter or Olive Oil

100g Shallots, finely chopped if not using a food processor

100g Red Pepper, finely chopped if not using a food processor

500g Aberdeen Angus Beef Mince (steak mince, 5-10% fat)

1 tsp Hot Chilli Powder

2 tsp Garam Masala

Salt & Pepper to taste
Directions
Heat the butter / oil in a medium pan and fry the shallots & pepper over a gentle heat for 6-8 minutes to slowly brown. Remove from the heat and allow to cool a little.
The burger mix can be made in a food processor or mixed by hand. Add all of the ingredients to a bowl / food processor and mix well.
Divide the mix into 4 or 8, depending on how thick you want each burger.
Use a burger press or mould the mix in your hands, pressing firmly.
Heat a skillet pan or good non-stick frying pan over a medium heat. Depending on the thickness of the burgers, fry for around 3-5 minutes on each side to ensure they are fully cooked.
